Honestly, I don't think that I went to the Longhorn Drive-In over a couple of times in my life, and not at all after I was a very young teenager, at the very latest. My high school sweetheart and I always went by The Lamp Post after movie dates, and no, we didn't smooch there. :D :P

Bob, were you just trying to improve your embouchure when you were smooching in the dark at the drive-ins?

For you non-musicians: according to my trusty old American Heritage Dictionary, "embouchure" is "the manner in which the lips and tongue are applied to the mouthpiece of a wind instrument."

:D :P

Y'all have NO IDEA how far I could run with that IF I really wanted to. But St. Sarah says "NO!!" and Zet would probably track me down and have me mounted or bronzed.

Mark and I were out on the Harley the other day in West Virginia just having a mid-week jaunt. Stopped at a little roadside diner and had the best cheeseburgers and onion rings. Was reminded of someone saying if you ordered a cheeseburger with mayonnaise instead of mustard and catsup at one of Meridian's hamburger joints (Jack's Sandwich Shop or The Orange Bowl, I can't remember which), it was called a "Sissy Burger". That's how I always order mine anyway, but that's how they were serving their special burger that day. They called it a "Deluxe Cheeseburger". I wanted to say that it was really a "Sissy Burger." :)

I just went back to page 1 of this topic and read where Jimbob said the Sissy Burger was at Jack's Sandwich Shop. He posted that in 2009. Funny the things that stay with you. :)

Thought I remembered that Jimbob had passed away. Sure enough, I checked and he died in November 2013. I guess that's why nobody really posts on this site anymore. So many of the old standbys who you could count on to have something interesting to contribute have left us. :(

Jimmy Harwell was my cousin. He died in Dec 2013. Bridget and I were in CA and missed the funeral. Jeff East was able to attend and he later told me it was a very good service.
But you are right, a number of the old timers have died and no new members have joined here to share their stories which is sad.
